On the evening of October 20th of the year 2010, the students of Lincoln International Academy filed into the school's track field as students from other schools arrived at the school in order to compete in the yearly marathon. There was an air of tension and expectation as each student waited for their turn to run in hopes of winning their category's race. There were tears from the disappointed, and joy from those who rose victoriously, as well as the always-present trips and falls and near faints.The always present element of surprise took shape in Lincoln's Mrs. Anna Valverde who, being six months pregnant, trotted a full run through the track field during the Teachers and Moms run, embodying an excellent example of surpassing obstacles.
